Instructions for use of a wooden wick candle

Congratulations on your new Loimutar wooden wick candle! You are holding an ecological and domestically produced design item.

Below are tips for using your wooden wick candle. Sometimes, issues may arise with the burning of the wooden wick. With these tips, you can ensure your candle burns optimally and enjoy the crackling flame of the wooden wick for as long as possible. ♡

 

Problem: The candle extinguishes itself.

Instructions: The candle may extinguish if the flame is smothered. If the wooden wick has carbonized, carefully break off the blackened tip with your fingers. If the candle continues to extinguish, try to assist the flame by pouring off a small amount of melted wax from the candle. Then, relight the candle. The candle usually starts to burn well after a few lightings and then continues to burn properly until the end.

Problem: The candle smokes and produces soot.

Instructions: Ensure there is no draft/airflow around the candle. The wooden wick may also smoke if it is too long. Extinguish the candle and shorten the wooden wick by breaking it with your fingers or cutting it with scissors. A properly sized wooden wick will not smoke or burn with an erratic, flickering flame.

Problem: The candle forms a tunnel in the center of the glass and does not burn evenly.

Instructions: The candle is burning with too weak a flame if it doesn't melt the wax all the way to the edges. Try to help the flame strengthen by tilting the candle and pouring a small amount of melted wax out of the candle. Create a new surface on the wooden wick and relight the candle. Repeat this a couple of times if the problem persists.

Problem: The candle's wooden wick detaches from the bottom of the glass.

Instructions: If the wooden wick detaches from the glass by itself, the candle likely has a manufacturing defect. Please contact us at info@loimutar.com, and we will replace your candle.
